Maomi Sunshine Art
Maomi Sunshine is a local artist living on an off-grid farm along Hawai‘i Island’s lush Hāmākua Coast, where she raises her jungle babies and creates art surrounded by the rhythms of the land. Painting with water drawn from a nearby stream fed by Mauna Kea and Hawai‘i’s rainwater her work is deeply rooted in the living spirit of the island.
Inspired by nature, the ocean, animism, and the unseen magic woven through Hawai‘i, Maomi’s creations explore the relationship between humans and the natural world. Her work blends playfulness, reverence, and earthy beauty through murals, painting, illustration, photography, videography, and design.
